HydroCLimate IMPact Lab
ABOUT US
Welcome to the Hydroclimate Impact (HydroCLIMP) lab at the Department of Geography & Sustainability of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Our research focuses on understanding the impacts of hydroclimate extremes on society and the environment. We are particularly interested in droughts, extreme precipitation, and rapid hydroclimate transition events. Although characterizing hydroclimate extremes is one of our research interests, our main focus is on the physical processes (e.g., land-atmosphere interactions) that cause and modulate them, as well as the responses from the environment (both human and natural). To achieve this, we use an array of tools, including statistical methods, climate modeling, machine learning, and remote sensing.
